Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented English Translator to convert written and spoken content from one language to English and vice versa. The ideal candidate will have strong linguistic abilities, cultural awareness, and expertise in maintaining accuracy, tone, and meaning across translations. This role requires excellent comprehension, proofreading, and communication skills to ensure high-quality translations for business, legal, technical, or literary documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate written and verbal content accurately from the source language to English and vice versa.
- Ensure clarity, consistency, and cultural appropriateness in all translations.
- Proofread and edit translated content for grammar, spelling, and accuracy.
- Conduct research on industry-specific terminology to maintain translation accuracy.
- Collaborate with clients, editors, and project managers to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive documents and adhere to ethical standards.
- Utilize translation software and tools to enhance efficiency when necessary.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English and at least one other language (spoken and written).
- Proven experience as a translator or similar role.
- Strong grammar, writing, and editing skills.
- Familiarity with translation software and tools (e.g., CAT tools, SDL Trados).
- Knowledge of specialized terminology (e.g., legal, medical, technical) is a plus.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Certification in translation (e.g., ATA, CIOL) is preferred but not required.
